Last week, we gathered for another inspiring session in the Science & Industry series by ACES — the Association of Spanish Scientists in Sweden.
This time, we explored the theme of career transitions — what happens when scientists step beyond academia to apply their expertise in new environments, industries, and contexts.
Mireia Palomar Siles, PhD, and Serena De Chiara took the stage to share their personal journeys — from the structured world of research to the dynamic landscapes of industry. Through honest reflections on turning points, challenges, and lessons learned, they offered a rare and relatable look into what it truly means to evolve as a scientist.
Their openness sparked meaningful conversations among participants — about purpose, risk, and curiosity — and how the scientific mindset continues to thrive far beyond academic labs.
The session reminded us that science isn’t confined to institutions; it lives in every question asked, every problem solved, and every new idea that connects research with real-world impact.
A big thank you to everyone who joined and made the evening so energising!
Together, we continue to build bridges between disciplines, people, and possibilities — right here with our community.
