When your team is spread across the country, finding a place to connect isn’t just a logistical challenge — it’s about fostering culture, collaboration, and belonging. For Agilent Technologies Sweden, that place is The Park.

We sat down with Martin Steen, Country General Manager at Agilent Sweden, to explore how The Park supports their hybrid way of working and strengthens connections across the life science community.

A Flexible Home for a Global Company

Agilent Technologies is a global leader in life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets. Headquartered in Santa Clara, California, the company operates in more than 110 countries and employs approximately 18,000 people worldwide. In Sweden, Agilent’s operations are built around a dynamic team of about 50 employees, primarily working remotely.“We don’t have a traditional office in Sweden,” Martin explains. “When the opportunity came to rent space at The Park, I immediately started lobbying for it. I believe it’s important to have a place to meet — especially since our teams are spread out and busy with customer visits.”
Today, Agilent Sweden uses The Park’s flex memberships as a hub for meetings, lunches, and community connections. Most of the team gathers on Tuesdays, sometimes midweek, to catch up, collaborate, and enjoy the shared space.

Balancing Flexibility and Connection

For Martin, the hybrid setup works — but there’s always room for improvement.
I’m considering adding a few permanent desks to ensure we always have space when we need it. I want people to feel that this is a community space — come in for lunch, coffee, or meetings without feeling obligated. It’s about having the option, not the pressure.”

Creating Impact Through Space and Community

Agilent’s presence at The Park goes beyond daily work. The space has become a venue for industry collaboration. As Chairman of the Swedish Labtech group, Martin recently hosted their annual meeting at The Park, bringing together companies from across the life science and diagnostics sectors.“It was a great opportunity to share ideas — even among competitors,” he says. “Everyone was impressed by the building. It’s the right place to be.”
Visitors from other countries and customers often comment on the atmosphere — the open design, the light, and the energy that defines The Park.“The people here are fantastic,” Martin says. “You’re greeted every day, you chat on the terrace, even in the elevator. It’s a genuinely collaborative atmosphere.”

A Place to Be Proud Of

When asked if he would recommend The Park to others, Martin doesn’t hesitate.“Absolutely. The building is beautiful, the location is great, and there’s a real sense of community. Every time I bring someone new, I show them the wall of fame — it’s such a great way to showcase the companies here.
