The National University of Singapore (NUS) has expressed keen interest in exploring a meaningful collaboration with The Park Forskaren, offering exciting internship opportunities through its NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) Programme.
Following recent discussions, NUS is seeking to connect its students with startups and impact-driven organizations within The Park Forskaren community. This initiative provides an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience while supporting companies in various fields.
About the NOC Programme
The NOC Programme, established in 2005 in collaboration with KTH Royal Institute of Technology, has two intakes annually—January and August. NUS undergraduates participate in a 48-week full-time paid internship, with partner companies offering a minimum monthly allowance of SEK 12,500 per student.
This year, the programme features two student cohorts:
1. NOC Stockholm Programme
- Aimed at nurturing future entrepreneurs.
- Students intern at startups and attend entrepreneurial-related classes at KTH (up to 8 hours per week).
- Encourages students to launch their own ventures or support host companies in expanding into Singapore.
- Programme Manager: Ms. Yuki Fu
2. NOC Stockholm (Discoverer) Programme
- Newly introduced in September 2023 as part of the Philip Yeo Initiative (PYI)’s 10th Anniversary.
- Students intern at impact-driven organizations, engaging in projects that create societal impact.
- Provides firsthand insights into addressing global challenges such as climate action, humanitarian aid, and sustainability.
- Programme Manager: Ms. Leow Ling Hui
How The Park Forskaren Can Get Involved
NUS is looking for The Park Forskaren to act as a connector, facilitating collaboration between its startups and NOC students. This can be done through:
- Connecting Startups with Interns
- Sharing programme details with startups that may be interested in hiring NOC interns.
- Interested startups can coordinate with Ms. Yuki Fu (yixue.fu@nus.edu.sg) for further discussions.
- Engaging Impact-Driven Organizations
- Recommending corporate partners, NGOs and foundations as potential Discoverer Programme partners.
Next Steps for Startups
Startups interested in hosting NOC interns are encouraged to provide:
- Student preferences – qualifications, skills, and disciplines required.
- Job descriptions – roles and projects available for the students.
NUS students come from diverse backgrounds, including Business Analytics, Business Administration, Data Science & Analytics, and Environmental Engineering.
The next internship intake is in August 2025, and startups should confirm their interest by February 25 to allow time for selection and onboarding.
