The Park recently participated in a joint workshop hosted by Flemingsberg Science Foundation, bringing together key stakeholders to align around a shared narrative for Flemingsberg as a place for knowledge, innovation, and long-term societal impact.
Flemingsberg stands out as one of Stockholm’s most complex and opportunity-rich districts. It is a place where academia, healthcare, public institutions, culture, and industry coexist within a compact geography. The workshop gathered representatives from across this ecosystem, including Karolinska Institutet, KTH, Södertörn University, University College of Music Education in Stockholm, Swedish Red Cross University, Region Stockholm, Huddinge Kommun, Botkyrka Kommun, as well as leading real estate actors such as Fabege and Hemsö.
Rather than focusing on individual initiatives, the ambition was broader: to strengthen a common understanding of what Flemingsberg is today and what it has the potential to become. With world-class research, healthcare, education, and a growing base of companies and organisations, Flemingsberg has many of the core ingredients associated with internationally recognised innovation districts.
“Flemingsberg already has all the elements of a true innovation district,” says Armando Cázares-Körner, Head of Community at The Park.
“You have Europe’s best hospital, world-leading universities, and a strong and diverse mix of companies and public actors. The opportunity now lies in connecting these strengths more clearly and telling a shared story that reflects the scale of what is happening here.”
For The Park, taking part in this collaboration is a natural extension of our role in Flemingsberg. Through The Park Novum, we work at the intersection of life science, entrepreneurship, and community-building, creating environments where people from different sectors can meet, exchange perspectives, and develop ideas together.
A shared narrative is not only about visibility or branding. It helps align ambitions, attract talent and partners, and create a stronger sense of place for those already active in the area. By contributing to this collective effort, The Park supports the long-term development of Flemingsberg as a district where knowledge turns into impact.
